I am so looking forward to this ongoing journey and bringing you the latest updates and trends from around our beautiful low-country and nationwide.

I make no apologies for being obsessed with 'all things wedding' and ideas that have created major trend-setting designs since I can remember.  Great designers create beautiful wedding attire, accessories, florals and events.  Fabulous designers get published, printed and sought after.  They need not be from Italy or New York.   They may appear in your own back yard.   One just has to 'look'.

Please check back with us the end of January, when we will start our journey on featuring local and nationwide content.  We hope it will make your planning, dress hunting and design ideas come together easier.

Happy Planning!

Being involved in the wedding industry for over 30 years, both as a designer and in a consulting capacity, Elyn Rahman is no stranger to changing trends and sourcing the very best of wedding vendors.

It was in 2002, she founded the Bridal Library, the very first 'One-Stop Source and Planning Facility' in beautiful Charleston SC.  While designing beautiful Destination Weddings for out-of-town brides, Elyn noticed a void in the wedding industry. Brides traveled long distances with designer gowns in tow, sometimes crushed in suitcases and garment bags.  Once in Charleston, there were no services for pressing/steaming their gowns.   Elyn and/or her staff used to help prep the gowns as part of their in-house service.  It wasn't long before other planners called for help with their bride's gowns.

Press the Dress was born and officially launched in 2005 under its own LLC. The wedding industry needed someone with who had the knowledge of gown materials, styles and prepping methods.

More recently Elyn is semi-retired but has taken a 'hands-on approach', with more gown prepping/staging appointments, than designing weddings themselves. Elyn states, "It keeps me involved in the wedding industry and also allows me to meet some amazing 'new and upcoming planning companies'.  I also get to stay in touch with all Charleston's wonderful venues and fabulous wedding industry vendors. The wedding industry is magical and rewarding, but it also takes up a lot of your time.  I'm enjoying life, as well as staying involved in the wedding industry.   I guess you could call that 'having your cake and eating it too'.  I am truly blessed!"
